Denbury is searching for an Automation Foreman to join our company in a work-from-home location near Denbury’s North Region Assets (WY/MT/ND).

Job Responsibilities
This position will be in the Central Engineering group, with responsibilities listed in order of priority as follows:
- Support Field Operations and Maintenance Department staff with advanced troubleshooting of existing automation infrastructure across the WY/MT/ND footprint. The area of coverage is estimated to have over 500 PLCs.
- Support ~ 5 Facilities Engineers embedded in the North Production Business Units with small capital projects and optimization efforts.
- Support team of ~5 Project Managers executing capital projects totaling ~$100MM/yr.
Generally, the first level of troubleshooting is done by Field Technicians. If they cannot solve the problem, the second level of intervention involves the Field staff contacting the Automation Foreman for over-the-phone support while remotely logged into PLC; more advanced issues will require Automation Foreman to travel to the field to provide hands-on assistance and training.
Additional Job Responsibilities
- First-call support for Denbury field techs for Automation troubleshooting and PLC modifications
- Update P&IDs, control narrative, Cause and Effect, and I/O list after changes made during the troubleshooting/upgrade process (documentation via MOC process)
- Use of existing standardized programming philosophies and structures across all assets when troubleshooting or upgrading
- Work with Denbury SCADA, Radio Communication, and IT department troubleshooting communication issues
- Support the utilization, development, and implementation of standards, processes, and procedures

- Rotating Equipment Controls (centrifugal and PD pumps; centrifugal, reciprocating, screw, and rotary vane compression)
- Gas Engine controls (Caterpillar and Waukesha)
- Heat Exchange Controls (fin fan, shell/tube, heat media loops, burner controls, flare controls, etc.)
- Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Automation Documentation (Control Narrative, Cause and Effect, IO list, etc.)
- Instrumentation (Level, Pressure, Temperature, Vibration, etc.)
- Control Devices (Fisher Control Valves)

Environmental and Physical Requirements
Travel:
- Anticipate 50% travel long-term, with more travel needed initially to get familiar with assets and people.
Physical Demands:
- Travel to oil and gas production facilities (lower 48)
- Wearing personal protective equipment
- Hands-on calibration, function testing, and termination of PLC/Automation/Control devices while troubleshooting if local support is not available
- Ability to lift to 35 pounds is required.
- Position requires constant operation and viewing of a computer screen and panel-mounted displays.
