Denbury Inc. has a current opening for a Contracts Analyst in our Plano location in Plano, Texas.

Job Responsibilities

Prepare, negotiate, and execute various types of contracts including, but not limited to, Master Goods & Services Agreements, Consulting Services Agreements, IADC Drilling Contracts, IT Service Contracts, Placement Fee Agreements, Project-Specific Construction Agreements, and Non-Disclosure Agreements. 

Integrate and collaborate with the internal departments of Drilling and Workover, Project Management, Construction, Production Operations, CO2 Supply & Pipeline Operations, Enterprise Asset Management, Legal, Accounting and Tax and will support each in executing Denbury’s initiatives.

Manage assigned contract categories and key vendor relationships to meet Denbury’s performance, risk allocation, and financial goals.

Draft, negotiate and execute agreements with Denbury vendors utilizing both Denbury and vendor-provided contract forms. 

Execute agreements with appropriate indemnity, confidentiality and insurance requirements, based on vendors’ scope of work, and favorable commercial terms and conditions. 

Work closely with the Procurement Manager and Business Unit Leaders to develop and execute effective contract strategies to procure services and materials. 

Collaborate with the Legal, Risk, and Accounting departments to ensure contracts are executed in accordance with Denbury policies and standards. 

Monitor contract expirations and proactively renew/renegotiate to ensure seamless contract compliance. 

Exercise initiative and follow-through of commitments with internal stakeholders and Denbury’s vendors. 

Adhere to all Denbury policies and Contracts’ processes and procedures. 

Work in accordance with Denbury’s document storage and retention guidelines, including uploading contracts to the appropriate internal repositories.

Skills and Relevant Experience

5+ years of work experience working in contracts, law, supply chain, or related field required. 

3+ years of work experience in the energy industry preferred. 

Strong understanding of IT contractual agreements, including indemnification, warranty, confidentiality provisions, and commercial terms. 

Ability to assess and communicate the financial impact and risks inherent in proposed contract strategies. 

Experience with SAP Purchasing ‘Procure to Pay modules, including SAP Service Masters and Contracts, preferred. 

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. 

Ability to remain organized and appropriately prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. 

Experience with ISN (contractor management platform) a plus. 

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field 

Environmental and Physical Requirements

Frequently communicate information and to manage the possible stress of an office environment. 

Frequently stationary for long periods of time, with occasional movement about the office. 

Constant operation and viewing of a computer screen and other office machinery. 

Ability to lift up to 35 pounds is required. 

Frequent alpha/numeric keyboarding. 

Oral communication over the phone, video, and in person.
