Denbury is searching for two Project Managers to join their Project Management Department in our Texas locations in the Dallas Fort Worth MetroPlex (Plano, TX) while also being open to the greater Houston area.
The Project Management Department manages Denbury capital projects, both Pipeline and Production Facilities. In these roles, the PMs are accountable to Denbury and its Business Unit Stakeholders for the design and execution of these projects. Including ensuring proper resources are in place to effectively manage safety, scope, cost, schedule, and quality while ensuring adherence to Corporate Standards (Safety, Engineering, Construction, etc.) and Industry Codes and Regulations.
You will manage either Denbury’s Production Facility or Pipeline Projects from the concept development and scoping phase through engineering design, construction, and project documentation close-out in this role. While also responsible for ensuring that proper internal and external resources are allocated to the project in each phase and that all required stakeholders have been identified, notified, and participated in the Capital Project. The Project Life Cycle phases include Concept Development & Refinement, Engineering/Design, Construction, and Close-out.

Additional responsibilities include the following:
- Prioritize safety on all projects and ensure that safe work practices are incorporated into all activities;
- Ensure communication and collaboration between Stakeholders are adequate throughout the life of the Project;
- Company and external resources responsible for providing information for various tasks are engaged, and Deliverables are met;
- Project Scope, Budget, and Schedule are controlled, and changes are managed;
- Project Risks are well understood and documented; mitigation plans are created and executed;
- Adherence to all Company Standards;
- Project Management Lessons Learned are documented and shared with the Project Management Team.
- The Project is appropriately closed out.
Requirements:
- Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of related project management/engineering experience and have demonstrated the ability to manage moderate to large-scope projects and multiple smaller projects;
- Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; while being highly organized and Goal Oriented
- Time management is critical in this role; one must demonstrate the ability to manage their time, as they will often be working on multiple tasks/projects at once;
- Candidate must possess analytical skills and be able to solve problems and make decisions that affect the project regularly;
- LEADERSHIP: Candidate must have demonstrated the ability to manage and motivate others and lead all aspects of the project process, including scoping, estimating, design, procurement, project controls, QA/QC, health and safety, construction management, etc.
- FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY: The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to manage/control the project budget (multi-million), emphasizing accurate forecasting and project control application throughout the project lifecycle. A good understanding of the application of earned value methods is also desired.
- Travel 20% to 30% of the time (land, water, and air travel). Approximately one week out of the month, all travel will occur within the US Gulf Coast and in our North operations in the Rocky Mountains regions.
- Valid driver’s license
Education & Professional Certifications/ Training:
- Candidate must, at a minimum, possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering discipline (i.e., Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, etc.) or related field from an accredited University)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
Preferred Experience:
- Experience specifically related to Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) production facilities;
- Midstream Oil and Gas candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
- Ten to twenty years of related project management experience;
- Experience related to both Pipeline and Production Facilities, including;
- CO2 or Natural Gas Pipeline (DOT 192 and 195)
- CO2 or Natural Gas Pipeline Compressor Station and Pump Station
- Enhanced Oil Recovery Recycle Production Facilities
- Conventional Oil Production Facilities
- Tank Battery Facilities
- Gathering and Production Flowline Installations
- Ability to deal effectively with industry, regulatory, and public stakeholders on project-related matters
Physical Demands:
- Work will primarily be conducted in an office environment; travel will be required to district and field offices and/or oil and gas production facilities, with the need to wear personal protective equipment at a Denbury facility.
- The position requires communicating information frequently and managing the possible office environment stress.
- Work may include being stationary for long periods, with occasional movement about the office.
- The position requires constant operation and viewing of a computer screen and other office machinery.
