Job Summary
Denbury is currently seeking a Petroleum Engineer to support Denbury’s Texas asset base, including conventional and CO2 EOR assets. As part of Denbury’s Gulf Coast Business Unit, they will be expected to collaborate daily on a multidisciplinary team, work independently on assigned tasks, effectively communicate their work to the team, and provide constructive feedback to others. The position will oversee well work operations, daily field operations, and perform reservoir management duties and will be based in Denbury’s corporate office located in Plano, Texas.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the Business Unit Owner of the asset(s) assigned and Point of Contact for field operations.
- Lead and take part in the Denbury’s efforts to promote Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance throughout our workplans and workflows.
- Work with Plano and Field team members to develop, manage, and optimize conventional production by analyzing the entire system, both surface and subsurface.
- Maximize PV10 investments by finding and developing new value-add projects.
- Prepare and defend reserves and long-range plan (LRP) for area of responsibility.
- Prepare, defend, and update production budgets and forecasts for area of responsibility.
- Prepare and manage well work activities including sucker rod, downhole pump, and ESP repairs, remedial services such as cleanouts, cement squeezes, stimulations, coiled tubing operations, wireline/slickline operations, etc., and artificial lift optimization projects.
- Diagnose root cause of surface and subsurface failures, derive options for corrections, evaluate economics, execute corrective plan optimally, and perform lookbacks to improve systematic and reoccurring failures.
Additional Job Responsibilities
- Monitor production/injection/disposal well performance and conduct reservoir surveillance to develop action plans to maximize the value of the asset.
- Work with the Facilities Engineering team to design, construct, and modify production facilities and infrastructure including flowline, tank, and vessel replacements and upgrades.
- Maintain corporate processes by preparing, updating, and tracking capital, lease operating expense (LOE), production budgets and forecasts, and reserves for area(s) of responsibility.

Skills and Relevant Experience
- 5+ yrs. experience in Production, Operations, and/or Reservoir Engineering in the oil & gas industry.
- Experience with Wellview, AFE Navigator, Spotfire, Cygnet, ARIES, DSS, Petra, IFM (MBal, Prosper, GAP), and the full suite of Microsoft Office tools preferred
- English language proficiency required

- BS degree in Engineering with a preference in Petroleum Engineering
